Release of Index CartoPhilatelica Second Edition
Index CartoPhilatelica Editor Brian Marshall of New Zealand has been hard at work preparing the new edition of this important cartophilatelic resource.
Released on October 1, 2026, the second edition of Index CartoPhilatelica is arranged in two parts. The first part is a subject index. The second, the author index, is arranged alphabetically by the name of the author, and under each name the entries are arranged chronologically. Over the years more than 280 individuals have made written contributions to the Society’s journals.
A new feature of the second edition is the addition of subject index active cross-reference links for all “see” and “see also” entries. Move the mouse over those lines and you will see the link become active. Press the link and you should “jump” to the respective page that contains the subject heading.
The second edition of Index CartoPhilatelica contains indexed content from all of the the issues of the Carto-Philatelist (1955-03 through 1995-12) and issues of The New CartoPhilatelist (2003-03 through 2025-10 [No. 91]).
This second edition of Index CartoPhilatelica is dedicated to the memory of David Wolfersberger, who edited our journal from January 2021 until 2025. David maintained a very high and meticulous standard throughout the term of his editorship.

2026 MoS Checklist Update1 Ready for Download
Checklist Editor Mark Honig has finalized the first 2026 update of the MoS Checklist (January 2026 to June 2026). This new update, along with previous updates, are always available as Microsoft Excel files to download from the “Checklist Updates” section on the MoS Checklist page.
Donation to ATA recognizes the cartophilatelic contributions of David Wolfersberger

At the Boston World Stamp Show 2026 the CartoPhilatelic Society (CPS) presented a donation to the American Topical Society (ATA) in recognition of the many contributions that David Wolfersberger made to the CPS and to the broader field of carto-philately. The donation of $US5000 from individual CPS Members in memory of David was presented to ATA President Jeffery Hayward by CPS Treasurer Phil Coop on May 25, 2026. CPS Vice-President Lynn Vernon, who arranged for the donation, also attended the show.
David was earlier recognized by the ATA with their highest award as Distinguished Topical Philatelist of 2022.
